Late-Breaking Abstracts<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Late-breaking abstracts MUST include high quality emerging data found between December 2025 and March 2026. Abstracts may be submitted from Monday, February 9, 2026 through Monday, March 16, 2026<\/b>. Submissions will be categorized into two groups: non-industry late-breaking abstracts and industry late-breaking abstracts. Each group will feature up to four abstracts selected through a peer-review process conducted by the APSS Program Committee for oral presentation at SLEEP 2026. Presentations will be selected based on outstanding scientific quality and innovation for a 12-minute lecture with an additional 3 minutes for questions. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation may be presented as posters.<\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Submission Guidelines<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
To submit a late-breaking abstract of your investigative work, carefully review the following submission guidelines. Case reports and literature reviews are not considered abstracts and should not be submitted.<\/strong> Data that has previously been presented elsewhere may be submitted; however, you are required to write an original abstract that fulfills the accepted criteria for copyright purposes.<\/p>\n

Abstracts may not exceed 350 words. Included in the word count are the following:\u00a0 introduction, methods, results, conclusion and support (if any). The section headings (introduction, methods, results and conclusion) may not be substituted with different terms and must appear in the submitted abstract. References, tables, figures, or any other graphics are not <\/strong>permitted. Brand names may not be used in abstract titles and are limited to one reference within the abstract body. An individual may be first author on a maximum of two late-breaking abstracts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For a late-breaking abstract to be accepted for consideration, the work must be high-quality, emerging data found between December 2025 and March 2026. Abstracts will not be considered for acceptance if there is no evidence that the data was found between the time period listed above, if they fail to reflect scientific methodology, if the statistical analyses do not justify the conclusions, if they lack sufficient scientific or clinical merit, or if no data are included.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Submission Information<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
Late-breaking abstract submission will open Monday, February 9, 2026, and will close Monday, March 16, 2026. The deadline will not be extended under any circumstances. Revisions and\/or proofing are not permitted after the submission of the abstract. Review your work for accuracy; abstracts will be printed exactly as submitted.<\/p>\n

Gene<\/strong>ral Guidelines for Submitting a Late-Breaking Abstract for SLEEP 2026:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Abstracts must be emerging data found between December 2025 and March 2026.<\/li>\n
  2. Abstracts must be submitted electronically as an attached Microsoft Word document to the APSS Meeting Department at presentations@sleepmeeting.org<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. The abstract agreement release form and payment form must be submitted electronically with the abstract to the APSS Meeting Department at presentations@sleepmeeting.org<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Abstracts must conform to the following outline:\n
      \n
    1. Title<\/li>\n
    2. Authors and Institutions<\/li>\n
    3. Introduction<\/li>\n
    4. Methods<\/li>\n
    5. Results<\/li>\n
    6. Conclusion<\/li>\n
    7. Support (if any)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    8. The abstract body (introduction, methods, results, conclusion and support) is limited to 350 words<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    9. Brand names may not be used in abstract titles and are limited to one reference within the body.<\/li>\n
    10. Total authors are limited to fifteen per abstract.<\/li>\n
    11. Authors must include reference to the dates the data was found in the abstract body.<\/li>\n
    12. References, tables, figures or any other graphics are not permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The APSS will only acknowledge completed submissions containing:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. The abstract as an attached Microsoft Word document;<\/li>\n
        2. The completed abstract agreement release form; and<\/li>\n
        3. The payment form for the nonrefundable abstract review fee of $100.00 per submission.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          The contact author will be sent a confirmation receipt via email within three business days of sending in all completed work; this receipt must be saved in order to maintain proof of submission.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

          <\/i><\/i><\/span>Acceptance Details<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
          Notice for acceptance will be sent to the contact author in late April 2026<\/strong>. Submission of an abstract constitutes the commitment of at least one author to present the abstract as accepted. Expenses associated with the preparation, submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the author\/presenter. A copy of the accepted abstracts will be printed on the SLEEP Meeting website.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
